Every piece begins with a story — including ours

Restory Studio was born from a lifelong love of art, craftsmanship, and the stories held within objects.

We are a husband-and-wife creative studio working from our workshop, where furniture, materials, and artwork are given new meaning through restoration, reimagining, and design. My husband is an abstract painter, and many of his works are available through the studio, forming a natural dialogue between furniture and fine art.

Together, we share a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and landscape—the kind of beauty found not just in grand works, but in texture, patina, and detail.

Where it all began

My creative journey started long before Restory Studio.

I grew up in a home filled with music, making, and imagination. My father played classical music and opera on Saturday & Sunday mornings, and my mother could make almost anything—clothes, toys, costumes for theatre, even wigs. Creativity ran through my family; my grandfather was a set and costume designer and a painter.

I was always drawing. I still have a drawing I made at six years old in my first year of school—a picture of Puff the Magic Dragon. It is framed in my kitchen today. Even now, nearly four decades later, I’m still proud of it. That feeling never left me.

A path that took a few turns

Like many creative people, I was encouraged to take a more “practical” path. I was told that a life in the arts would be too uncertain. So I moved into marketing and branding, eventually building a career in corporate environments and later running my own brand agency.

At fourteen, I remember saying I wanted to go to Rome to see Michelangelo’s work. Years later, I finally stood in front of it just before my 35th birthday. That moment reaffirmed something I had always known: I was meant to create, not just observe.

The Renaissance masters, the craftsmanship of the Victorians, and the beauty of handmade objects have always fascinated me. I eventually made the decision to leave behind a more conventional path and follow that pull fully.

Five years ago, we moved to the UK to be closer to the art, architecture, furniture, and historic craftsmanship I had long admired.

Why Restory Studio exists

Restory Studio is my response to a world of fast consumption—fast fashion, fast interiors, and a growing culture of disposal.

I believe we lose something important when objects are discarded simply because they are worn, outdated, or misunderstood. Often, it isn’t the object that lacks value, but the time, skill, or awareness needed to see what it could become.

At Restory Studio, we restore, repurpose, and reimagine furniture and décor so that it can continue its story in a modern home. Each piece is treated with respect for its past and imagination for its future.

We work with sustainable, circular principles—extending the life of materials already in circulation and reducing waste wherever possible.

What we create

From carefully restored antiques to bold reimagined statement pieces, every item is crafted with attention to detail, texture, and narrative. No two pieces are the same.

Alongside furniture, the studio also features original abstract paintings by my husband (Dee Gee In Colour) , bringing together two creative practices that complement each other: structure and expression, history and emotion, function and art.

A shared belief

At the heart of Restory Studio is a simple belief:

 - That things should not be wasted.
 - That craftsmanship deserves longevity.
 - And that beautiful objects should continue to be part of everyday life—not hidden away or thrown out.

Restory Studio is not just about furniture. It’s about slowing down, seeing potential, and choosing to live with things that carry meaning.
