This “JOY” wall sign started out as a mirrored decorative piece, but after being damaged during an international move, it was heading for disposal. We saw potential in it and decided to give it a new life rather than let it go to waste.
The broken mirror tiles were carefully removed, and the surface was smoothed back and prepared with gesso before being hand-sanded. Once ready, we painted it in a bold, happy yellow — chosen because it just feels like joy.
We then added hand-painted daisies in two sizes using thick white paint, with raised yellow centres to tie back into the background colour. The result is a textured, layered finish that feels bright, playful, and full of character without being overworked.
The piece is made from MDF and comes ready to hang with all fixings included. Because MDF is a softer material, we recommend hanging it securely and keeping it out of reach of children or pets.
It works really well as a statement piece in hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or creative spaces — anywhere you want a pop of colour and something a bit different on the wall. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone who loves unique, characterful home décor.
